ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Supporting the Construction Inspection division in enforcing safety, building regulations and codes, and contract compliance. Consulting for LAWA means providing the best management practices to ensure the City of Los Angeles and LAX attain the best quality of construction for public safety and longevity of their structures. The process focuses on identifying hazards throughout the construction process, problem solving for unforeseen circumstances, verification of construction materials and methods, and ensuring all utilities and facilities are installed, tested, operable, and maintained to the Public Works standards, FAA standards, and the Owner’s standards.

COMMUNITY BENEFITS

The Auxiliary Curbs project will provide enhanced and convenient vehicle access to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as part of new transportation rotaries located along the path of the forthcoming LAX Automated People Mover. These rotaries, which are located adjacent to LAX Economy Parking and the Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility, are designed to support private and commercial vehicle traffic with modernized transportation technologies (e.g., GPS, smart parking systems, traffic monitoring systems) that ease the airport journey.
